Day 08.
I do love milk.
We had used a few options in the past. Hello Fresh, My Food Bag, My Bargain Box and Kiwi Fresh. They’re all recipe-based food ingredients service. So love Kiwi Fresh the most because of their recipe options, it’s more of an Asian fusion street food recipes. But they decided to close their business and merged into their bigger sister company, My Food Bag. After that we’ve never really get similar service unless there’s a promotion.
Foodbox is different. They deliver fresh seasonal produce from local farmer and growers, including milk, meat, cheese, etc. And what I love about them is they have a more specific options like Meat Box, Pantry Box and we can actually configure the item in the box.
I love going to the supermarket, it’s my shopping therapy, so I wouldn’t give it up. But if you think doing groceries is a hassle, this is my best to go solution.
But, during the lockdown, the supermarket has a long queue. The online supermarket delivery slot is fully booked 7 days ahead.
I ordered my first box last week. And today I’ve got myself a 2 x 2 liters of milk because they stop the configuration option due to pandemic high demand (that’s a shame).
We have a small fridge and I like to hoard foods. But we usually only get a 1-liter bottle each time. Because the supermarket is just 5 minutes drive, we drive past it every single day. And that could be my excuse to go get my shopping therapy.
But now, I have 2 big bottles of milk, which will expire in 7 days. We can freeze milk, but my small freezer is also full with raw proteins (also came from the same box).
I reckon this means baking day everyday.
