Day 17.
More than 3 years ago, E and I often had a chat about whether we should get a dog or not. I can’t recall how many dog videos we watch on Youtube to decide which breed suits us. We talk with some breeders of different breeds. We went to dog shows, dog expos, dog parks just to have a closer look at what we’re after.
Our first option was Shiba Inu.
Then, we start looking for a local breeder. Gosh, they’re elite! There’s only a couple of them here in New Zealand. And the waiting list was like a dream. Since they don’t have a litter so often, it makes it incredibly difficult to be on the list. But later on, after we met few Shiba Inus here and there, we found out that they’re probably not the best option for us.
What was the second option? I go with a Dachshund. But E doesn’t like it. I said, King Charles Spaniel. E still wasn’t convinced. His dream dog is a Husky. But that’s not our option from the first place since we will need a bigger house with a big backyard for a big dog like Husky. He’s not into a toy dog.
Then, Corgi, I said.
E still wasn’t sure. But we decided to meet one of a local Corgi breeder. And on that day, E literally has fallen in love with one of the Corgi, named Speedy. We love how every Corgi we met is easy going and friendly. It’s finally decided.
2 years in the waiting list and fast forward until today.
Koru flew from Christchurch to windy Wellington on December 12, 2019. We’ve been a family of 3 for 4 months!
We love you, little evil. Don’t grow up too fast.
Honey, what’s for dinner?
